What is Early Intervention?
Early Intervention professionals in Illinois provide education and support to families, while helping children meet developmental milestones. Guided by the Principles of Early Intervention, services are designed to meet infants and toddlers’ needs in areas of physical, cognitive, communication, adaptive and social/emotional development.
A career in Early Intervention applies to a variety of roles,
both credentialed and non-credentialed.

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Licensed Dietician Nutritionist
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Developmental Therapist: vision, hearing, orientation and mobility
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Registered Nurse
Licensed Occupational Therapist
Licensed Physical Therapist
Licensed Speech Pathologist
Non-Credentialed Services:
Aural Rehabilitation
Assistive Technology
Bilingual and Sign Language Interpreting
Deaf Mentor
Licensed Audiology
